الصناعات الغذائية قطاع اقتصادي حيوي ومهم لاسيما ونحن نعيش في عصر ازدادت الحاجة إلي منتجات تلك الصناعات المتعددة الأنواع، فضلاً عن ذلك أن فنون الإنتاج ووسائله الحديثة وطبيعة نقل المواد الخام وتوزيع المنتجات الغذائية فيها تحتاج اختيار دقيق لمواضع تلك الصناعات المختلفة ، فالظروف التي يتعرض لها الغذاء أثناء عملية التصنيع تختلف عن ظروف التسويق والتوزيع والاستهلاك. حيث تتميز الصناعات الغذائية بأن مداخلتها تشكل حصيلة الإنتاج الزراعي بشقيه النباتي والحيواني ومع أن كل صناعة من هذه الصناعات لها مداخلات متشابهة تشترك في خواصها العامة لإعطاء منتجات لها مواصفات محددة، فإن لكل منها خصائصها الطبيعية والكيميائية على حد سواء. حيث تساهم هذه الصناعات في تحسين الميزان الغذائي للمواطنين وفى أنماء المناطق بالإضافة إلى دورها كمورد من موارد النقد الأجنبي بما تصدره للبلدان الخارجية. ومنها هنا تكمن أهميتها، ومنه نحاول تحديد مفهوم هده الصناعة.

Abstract:
The food industry is a vital and important economic sector, especially as we live in an era of increased need for the products of these industries, in addition to that, the arts of production and its modern means and the nature of the transport of raw materials and the distribution of food products in them need careful selection of the locations of these different industries, as the conditions to which food is exposed during the manufacturing process differ from the conditions of marketing, distribution and consumption. The food industry is characterized by the fact that its input constitutes the outcome of agricultural production in both plants and animals, and although each of these industries have similar inputs that share their general characteristics to give products with specific specifications, each has both natural and chemical characteristics. These industries contribute to improving the food.
