The Role of Universities in Raising Students’ Awareness of Dealing with Disasters and Crises: The Case of the University of Tripoli

مستخلص:هدف البحث للتعرف على دور الجامعة في تنمية وعي الطلاب بكيفية التعامل مع الكوارث والأزمات من ، تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وقامت الباحثة بإعداد استبانة وتوزيعها على عينة البحث والتي كانت عينة قصدية متمثلة في جميع عمداء كليات جامعة طرابلس، والذي بلغ عددهم 23 عميدا، حيث أسفرت النتائج أن الجامعات لها دور متوسط إلى ضعيف في تنمية وعي الطلاب بكيفية التعامل مع الكوارث والأزمات.

The aim of this study is to identify the role of the university in raising students’ awareness of how to deal with disasters and crises. The descriptive-analytical method was employed, and the researcher designed a questionnaire which was distributed to the study sample—a purposive sample consisting of all the deans of the faculties of the University of Tripoli, totaling 23 deans. The results revealed that universities play a moderate to weak role in developing students’ awareness of how to handle disasters and crises.
