مستخلص:لقد برزت اتجاهات تنادى بفكرة (عولمة المياه) على اعتبار ان المياه موردا عالمياً، وعنصر يجتاز المقاييس المحلية ويعبر الحدود الدولية.ولعل ابرز هذه الاتجاهات إصدارات البنك الدولي المتعلقة بالشأن المائي، يجد بأنها تروج لمجموعة من المفاهيم تندرج ضمن إطار ما يطلق عليه الفكر المائي الجديد ويبني هذا الطرح على فكرة شرح المياه وندرتها (عولمتها)، في محاولة لإعطاء حلول فعالة، كتبني سياسات ترشيد استهلاك المياه وإدارة الطلب، وقد تبنى البنك الدولي ومعه العديد من الدول والمؤسسات الدولية فكرة تدويل المياه، وطرح مشاكلها على المستوى الدولي، والتعامل مع المياه كسلعة اقتصادية هو جوهر مفهوم عولمة المياه لذا يحاول هذا البحث في بيان ماهي عولمة المياه واهم الياتها وسبل التي على العراق انتهاجها للاستفادة من هذا الطرح الجديد.

Trends have emerged that call for the idea of (the globalization of water, considering that water is a global resource and an element that transcends local standards and crosses international borders. The most prominent of these trends is the World Bank’s publications related to the German issue. It is found that they promote a set of concepts that fall within the framework of what is called the new water thought, and this proposition is based on the idea of explaining water and its scarcity (its globalization), in an attempt to provide effective solutions, such as adopting policies to rationalize water consumption and manage demand, the World Bank, along with many countries and international institutions, have adopted the idea of internationalizing water and presenting its problems at the international level, and dealing with water as an economic commodity is the essence of the concept. The globalization of water. Therefore, this research attempts to explain what the globalization of water is, its most important mechanisms, and the ways that Iraq should follow to benefit from this new proposition.
