مستخلص:يستعرض المقال وظيفة الحُجّاب في الديوان المريني، مع التركيز على إشرافهم المباشر على توقيع الرسائل السلطانية ووضع العلامة، وهي مهمة حساسة ترتبط مباشرة بالسلطان وتشكل جزءًا من الأجهزة الإدارية العليا للدولة. وقد شغل هذه المناصب أفراد موثوقون يمتلكون مهارات الكتابة والإدارة، وأصبحوا يُعرفون باسم “أصحاب العلامة” أو رؤساء الكتاب.
توضح الدراسة أن الحُجّاب لم يكونوا مجرد كتاب رسميين، بل كانوا أيضًا ممثلين للسلطة السلطانية في المؤسسة الإدارية، ما جعل منهم حلقة وصل مهمة بين السلطة السياسية والدوائر الإدارية. وبذلك، يعكس دورهم التداخل بين البُعد الإداري والسياسي للدولة المرينية، ويظهر كيف أن السيطرة على التوثيق الرسمي كانت جزءًا أساسيًا من ممارسة السلطة وإرساء الشرعية

Abstract:
The article examines the role of the ḥujjāb in the Marinid administration, focusing on their direct supervision of the signing of royal letters and the application of the official seal, a sensitive task closely linked to the sultan and forming part of the state’s top administrative apparatus. These positions were held by trusted individuals with skills in writing and administration, who came to be known as “holders of the seal” or chief scribes.
The study shows that the ḥujjāb were not merely official scribes but also representatives of the sultan’s authority within the administrative institution, making them a crucial link between political power and administrative circles. Their role reflects the intersection of administrative and political authority in the Marinid state, highlighting how control over official documentation was a key aspect of exercising power and establishing legitimacy.
